The E-Sylum: Volume 02, Number 26, June 27, 1999, Article 3

OTHER COIN WORLD ITEMS OF NOTE

The same issue of Coin World holds other items of interest to numismatic bibliophiles. Stuart Segan has an article on page 50 devoted to the auction catalogs of 19th century coin dealer William Elliot Woodward.

Page 79 holds a full-page buy ad from Stack's and John J. Ford, Jr. The headline reads "Wanted: Western Americana" Coming on the heels of the controversy over the Buttrey article, the ad is sure to set some tongues wagging. The ad is similar to the flyers Ford printed in the 1960's to buy western gold and silver bars.
