DYE'S COIN ENCYCLOPEDIA QUESTION  

   Jørgen Sømod of Denmark asks: "Can you tell me what the 
   opinion was, when Dye's Coin Encyclopaedia,  Philadelphia 
   1883, turned up?"  

   Can anyone point us to contemporary references to Dye's 
   book?  What did people think of it at the time?
