WWII VETERAN'S WAR MEDALS STOLENNewspapers in Canada are reporting the theft of a WWII
Veteran's medals, including a rare British Army Palestine Medal. Also
stolen was an African Star medal (pictured). Dealers and collectors, be on
the lookout! -Editor Police are in the midst of investigating the
theft of a Second World War veteran's medals...Five war medals were stolen when the elderly victim - who served in the British Army - attended an event at the Canadian Legion on Legion Road in Burlington on May 23. He carried them to hall in a black box to have them professionally mounted. Someone snatched the precious awards from a table while his back was briefly turned. Police say these British medals are in excellent condition and one of them is extremely rare. The victim had one of only 1,000 British Army Palestine Medals in existence. That particular medallion is cast bronze with an inscription around the edge.
