VICTORIA AND ALBERT PLAQUES OF LEAD FROM BOIS DURCI MASTERS

Regarding our discussion of numismatic items made from bois durci ("hardened wood") molds, Harry Mernick writes:
I attach images of two Bois Durci items, which I believe are lead squeezes from Bois Durci moulds. They are mounted in wooden frames dating from the 1930s. The Albert is approx 900 gm., and the Victoria is 750 gm. The wing mintmark has been erased, leaving a disruption in the stippling.
