MORE ON THE 100 GREATEST ITEMS OF AMERICAN NUMISMATIC LITERATURERegarding Charlie Davis' comments on the "100 Greatest" survey, NBS webmaster Bruce Perdue writes: As a NBS member who did not respond to the survey, I did not respond because I did not feel qualified as my knowledge of numismatic books is mostly based on my reading of and work on The E-Sylum. While I have a number of numismatic books I do not possess the library that many of our readers do, nor am I familiar with the majority of works listed... certainly not enough to make my input in my mind valuable... so I stepped aside and looked to the experts. A number of NBS members specialize in the numismatic literature of their own interest area (such as Large Cents, or early silver coinage), and not everyone is such a nut for ALL American numismatic literature. -Editor To read the earlier E-Sylum article, see: MORE ON THE 100 GREATEST ITEMS OF AMERICAN NUMISMATIC LITERATURE (http://www.coinbooks.org/esylum_v12n28a08.html) Wayne Homren, Editor The Numismatic Bibliomania Society is a non-profit organization promoting numismatic literature.
