MORE ON THE 1976 PHILADELPHIA MINT EXHIBITMichael Schmidt writes: We opened a new Philadelphia mint in 1976?? News to me. They may have done a remodeling in '76 but the current mint building is the same one they've used since 1969. I had a chance to see that exhibit at the mint in August of 1976. I remember the special frames, but I don't remember any circular display racks. What I remember seeing was one long rectangular display rack with the frames in it.
The mint and original exhibit opened in 1969. I should have prefaced Harvey's story by saying that the mint wanted to update their exhibit area for the 1976 bicentennial. Sorry!
