HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ENCASED POSTAGE STAMPS!

Dave Bowers kindly forwarded these image reminding me that today is the 150th Anniversary of the awarding of John Gault's patent for U.S. Encased Postage Stamps. I remember being in awe years ago while holding the original patent application while helping Fred Reed research his book on the subject. I collected these for many years. The B.F. Miles is the rarest and eluded me. Thanks for the great photos. -Editor
