The only book on the topic in my library is a 1965 work by Lloyd A. McLaughlin, Jr. titled "Mardi Gras Doubloons and Medallions" (see image).
Back in our April 9, 2006 issue, numismatic literature dealer Richard Stockley wrote:
a book called "Doubloons Commemorative Medals" by Jerry Ledet Sr.
I don't know if it is updated every year - mine is a 1994 edition.
It is basically a listing, not illustrated, of the doubloons along
with a couple of other items.
