ENJOYING COIN COLLECTING
NBS Board member Bill Murray recommends Bill Fivaz's
new book, HELPFUL HINTS FOR ENJOYING COIN
COLLECTING. He quotes from Dave Bowers' foreword:
"I enjoyed looking through it, and along the way picked up
some pointers that I had either forgotten or had never known."
Bill Murray: "Considering the source, powerful words, indeed."
PAPER MONEY REFERENCES
Member Bob Cochran has a large number of (mostly U.S.)
currency & banking reference works for sale. For more
information, write to him at this address:
bob-tmo_cochran@hp-usa-om22.om.hp.com
The books are duplicates from his own library, plus libraries
of three other collectors. The references will be offered at
the Memphis Paper Money show in June.

NBS ARCHIVES
Board Member Joel Orosz reports: "In my capacity as NBS
Historian, I've completed the task of organizing the archives.
The material from 1980 through 1995 is stored in an acid-free
album, while the material from 1996 to date (including a complete
file of the E-Sylum) is stored in a Hollinger Box. Any member
needing historical information on the NBS should feel free to
contact me at: jjo@wkkf.org"
RESEARCH & THE E-SYLUM
W. David Perkins asked, "How do I use this forum for
research assistance?" My reply: The E-Sylum is a quick
and easy way to reach like-minded bibliophiles around the
world (although most of our readership is in the U.S.)
When starting a numismatic research project it is often a
good idea to announce your intentions in the E-Sylum.
Perhaps one of our readers will have some of the information
you seek, or at least will know where to look for it.
It is also a good idea to keep us apprised of your progress,
as members my be able to assist in answering the more
specific questions that crop up.
Bibliophiles are generally a smart bunch - if they don't have
the right reference on their shelf they probably know where
to look.
