QUERY: THE MOST EXPENSIVE NEW NUMISMATIC BOOK

Len Augsburger forwarded a marketing email from AbeBooks listing the most expensive art books sold on the site in 2008. The prices range from $1,750 to $8,495. -Editor

Beautiful and eye-catching art books have always been in demand on AbeBooks. Collectors are willing to pay high prices for rare and signed works. Limited editions featuring Picasso, Joan Miro and Jeff Koons are all on the list of the 10 most expensive art books purchased from AbeBooks this year. Discover what's on the bookshelves of big spending art lovers.

Which brings us to Len's question about the issue price of numismatic books:
I'd say these price points are a bit high for new works on the numismatic front. What would be the most expensive new numismatic book ever? I can only think of Adams-Bentley Comitia Americana at $2,000.
