I am delighted to announce the 2026 MCA Club medal. The Medal Committee has prepared something wonderful and historically important for us.

Designed by leading American medalist and sculptor, Heidi Wastweet, this year's medal displays, on the obverse, a powerful modern interpretation of Benjamin Franklin's famous Libertas Americana medal. The reverse shows the scene of King George III's statue being torn down in lower Manhattan on July 9, 1776. A full description of the medal and photos are included in the attachment.

The medals will be available for purchase by current MCA members on a first come, first served basis. This year the MCA will be striking both bronze and silver examples. The silver is available by subscription only.

Bronze medals can be purchased now via our website (PayPal or check). The price of $250 includes shipping to domestic addresses. We expect to begin shipping the medals as early as September. The bronze will have a limited edition of 76 medals.

Silver medals can also be purchased now via our website. The price is $1,776, including shipping. The subscription period for silver medals will be open until August 15. The actual number of silver medals for which subscriptions are received will determine the size of our order to the mint. We expect to ship the silver medals as early as September.

I hope you are as excited as I am about this stunning and historic work of art, created to honor the semiquincentennial anniversary of our nation's birth. And if you are interested in purchasing a silver example of our medal, please act quickly, as the subscription period will close in less than a month.
