NEW BOOK: NUMISMATIC TIMELINE OF THE PTOLEMAIC EMPIRELong-time NBS member Bill Daehn has authored his fourth book on ancient Greek numismatics. Congratulations! Here's the announcement. -Editor
This book is intended to assist the collector of ancient Ptolemaic coins to more easily grasp the complex history of this Egyptian-based empire and to tie the coinage more closely to that history. A section is devoted to the reign of each king or queen. Each ruler's dates of birth, reign, and death are given at the top. Significant events of the reign are arranged chronologically, segregated into three broad categories: (1) politics and war, (2) religious, personal and cultural events, and (3) the coinage. The timelines are presented in an easy-to-use columnar table format. Minneapolis, 2026; softcover, spiral bound, 46 pp., map.
