ANOTHER SANTINI PRIZE MEDALIn earlier articles, Jonathan Brecher and Zach Filis discussed Washington and Lee University's Santini Prize Medal (Julian SC-63). Zach wrote that "In May of 1871, Joseph Santini wrote to Robert E. Lee at the college ..." -Editor
"Lee died in 1870, so I am guessing he didn't get an answer. I believe he wrote to Washington & Lee University, although I guess it is possible he did not know Lee had passed." Zach Filis writes: "Good catch by John. He's absolutely correct. I was searching Robert E. Lee's archives all day and wrote Robert when I meant his son, George Washington Custis Lee who replaced Robert as President after his death. Sorry for the mistake.
