NUMISTA ADDS FORRER'S BIOGRAPHICAL DICTIONARY

Leonard Forrer's Biographical Dictionary of Medallists, covering engravers, mint masters and gem-cutters from 500 BC to 1900, remains a fundamental reference in numismatic research. Compiled between 1902 and 1930, it preserves biographical information and historical evidence that might otherwise have been lost.

Numista has digitised the complete work and made it accessible through a dedicated search engine, enabling researchers and collectors to explore its extensive contents more efficiently. The structured data also improves accessibility for modern AI-powered search tools.

The project's technical development, including data architecture and processing pipeline, was carried out within Numista with contributions from Dzmitry Huletski, a Belarusian numismatist and computer science specialist with expertise in AI technologies.

This initiative is part of Numista's broader mission to make numismatic knowledge and literature more accessible worldwide.
