The Royal Canadian Mint has released Deadpool and Wolverine coins, but that's not what caught my eye with this article. Turns out the Deadpool star is also a coin collector.

Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds can now collect another piece of his Hollywood history, thanks to the Royal Canadian Mint.
The mint has announced a new Deadpool pure silver coin, a Wolverine silver coin, and a pure gold Deadpool and Wolverine coin.
"Marvel's Deadpool loves exactly one person, and it's him," the mint said on its website.
This one ounce silver collectible coin minted by the Royal Canadian Mint is 99.99 per cent pure silver and released by Agoro. It sells for $259.95.
The collector's box has the saying "I Heart Me" front and centre.
The Deadpool character most recently appeared in Marvel Studios' "Deadpool & Wolverine" movie, released in 2024.
That is why the other side of the coin has Wolverine's extended claw with Deadpool's hand beside it.
So far, actor Ryan Reynolds — who plays Deadpool in the Marvel films — has not shared comments about the pieces.
But in a story shared with uk.movies.yahoo.com, Reynolds said he is a coin collector, thanks to his late father James Reynolds.
"Every year he sent away to the Canadian mint and he would buy the packet of coins," Reynolds said in the piece. "It was probably $15 and it wasn't very extravagant, but every year, all my brothers, we all have from the year we're born to the last time he did it.
"It was his thing, and it is the only thing I have left of him still, those coins, and his handwriting too — the way he wrote my name," Reynolds said in a Canadian History Ehx podcast from 2025.
The coin purchase is a tradition Reynolds has kept with his own family. He even visited the Canadian mint in Ottawa.
"I was telling my daughter about it, Betty, she's five, and she was fascinated and wanted to go," Reynolds said in the podcast. "She came with me, and we did a tour of the Canadian mint.
"We walked around that place like, just kids in a candy store. I got to go down and see where they were melting gold (and how it) is poured, and I bought them some coins and left — I got her some coins and I got the other kids some, they don't even know I've been getting them coins every year."
