This must be our week for enigmatic abbreviations on medals. Leon A. Saryan, Ph.D. of Wisconsin submitted this query. Can anyone help? -EditorI recently procured a uniface 35-36 mm diameter medal, suspended from a ribbon, that depicts Noah's Ark floating on the waters with an all-seeing eye and rays behind clouds in the sky. The medal is inscribed "ARMENIA LODGE No. 1" and "G C A". It seems to be a fraternal jewel (Masonic or other) of some sort. I do not think it is directly connected with any lodges in Armenia proper, or any fraternal lodges of Armenian speakers. I have been unable to arrive at a plausible identification of the initials G C A. I would appreciate any information that might lead to an attribution of this enigmatic piece.
